about us

Nearly 30 years after they first stepped onto the stage, Arundhati and Jagdish Raja have realised their dream of a centre for performing arts: JAGRITI.

A fully equipped, air-conditioned, 170-seat auditorium with high-quality light, sound and projection equipment is the focus of this nesting ground of the arts. Complete with a three-camera set-up for digital recording, spacious green rooms and rehearsal spaces, JAGRITI also offers professional training courses in acting, playwriting, dramaturgy, and every skill involved in the magic of theatre.

A unique feature is the residential accommodation available to visiting faculty and the students of intensive courses.

Lumbini, along with the in-house restaurant, blends seamlessly into the monthly programme of JAGRITI with theme-related food and beverages. The bookshop and exhibition areas will allow audiences a deeper look at the genres of literature and eras of history we showcase.

JAGRITI is an initiative of The ART Foundation, a registered charitable trust, with S 80G exemption under the Indian Income Tax Act, 1961. Similar tax exemptions are being sought in the UK and the USA.
