With state-of-the-art lighting, sound, video and projection equipment, the auditorium at JAGRITI offers both audiences and practitioners world-class standards. With 170 comfortable seats, a stage designed for intimate performances, fully equipped green rooms, rehearsal spaces that replicate the stage area, and easily accessible equipment, JAGRITI strives to take care of both actor and spectator.
Lumbini
This informal stage is open to every kind of performance, from a sole voice with a classical guitar, to a group of adolescents testing their first workshop production. Sit about this lovely space and watch the evening steal across the sky. Lumbini is a salute to the eponymous playschool that offered virtually every theatre group a rehearsal and workshop space in the old days of Bangalore theatre.
Rooftop
Every performer's dream come true: an in-house rehearsal space whose dimensions mirror those of the main stage. This rooftop area will be home to every pre-production team that works at JAGRITI. In the evening, the space offers food and the odd grand finale screening of the latest test series. Pre-booked catered dinners or wine-and-cheese evenings find a perfect setting at the highest level of this nest.
Terrace
This 800sq.ft. space is available for classes, workshops, informal meetings, or even small soirees. It adjoins the auditorium, and audiences will be familiar with it as the place to flock to for coffee during show intervals.
Restaurant and Cafe
Rushing to grab some food before driving to JAGRITI? Rush no more. Come in a little early and have a bite to eat after a long day of work. Or stay for a light meal after the show, and discuss the performance over some wine.
Organise exclusive shows for select groups with a supper-theatre package. Experience every aspect of the month of, say, Greek theatre with some superb moussaka, pastitsio and baklava; the restaurant and cafe are as much a part of JAGRITI's monthly showcase as the auditorium and book nook.
