Cinema of Excess

Anirudh Ravi, Bharath Kashyap, and Abheet Anand are the acoustic trio that makes up Cinema of Excess. The music that the band plays is a careful curation of western folk, indie folk, and country music. Influences include artists such as The Milk Carton Kids, John Mayer, Damien Rice, Jack Johnson, and Iron & Wine. A wonderful mix of fingerstyle guitar sections and poetic lyrics, Cinema of Excess is truly an experience in a live setting. Their debut EP titled ‘Bring Back The Sound’ released in 2018 to incredible reviews, after which the band followed it up with two singles (and an international tour in 2018) over the next two years. Enter 2022, and Cinema of Excess' recently released their proudest work yet- their second studio EP 'Rooftops'. Riding on the wave of its success internationally, the band recently got back home from their wildly successful 6-city tour called the '#HeadInTheCloudsTour'. Their music is available on all global streaming platforms, and have more than 1M streams collectively.

Gimme a Key

Gimme A key returns for its third edition to a braver, brand new world. This festival has celebrated the work of some of the best talent in the country - musicians, instrumentalists, singers and songwriters. This year we are really excited to showcase some fine talent from the city. Cinema of Excess, Michael Dias and Joey Sharma have been a big part of the local music scene for years and we are so happy to have them share their music with us at the Festival this year.

Jagriti

Jagriti is a Performance Arts space dedicated to Theatre, Music, Dance and Comedy. Founded in 2011 by Arundhati and Jagdish Raja, the space has hosted several productions from India and around the world. A 200-seat theatre, built around a full-thrust stage, it is fully equipped to cater to both artistes and audience. The main stage is designed for intimate performances with adjoining spaces for informal lectures and gatherings. Jagriti is owned and operated by the not-for-profit ART Foundation, a registered charitable trust.

The Rooftop - above the main auditorium is an open-to-sky space with a staging area that can accommodate about 50 people. A raised and walled off platform can work as a perfect area for puppet theatre. The Rooftop has a restroom and a pantry.

The Terrace - alongside the auditorium, the Terrace can accommodate about 20 people as an informal gathering area.

Lumbini - extending out from the foyer, Lumbini has a stage and an open-to-sky terraced space for about 80 people.
