The mystical path is an uncovering of a wide range of spiritual emotions, ranging from the intense inner cry of the seeker’s longing to unite with his eternal source to the ecstatic revelations of one who has realised his oneness with the absolute truth & light in what everything is embraced in its completeness. From the fragmented sense of the self, his return to the deeper wholeness of his true being, to what he belongs & finally merges with. Like the river flowing down in a rush surrenders completely, giving in to the vast ocean, the individual soul (Jivatama) finds salvation when it merges with its original source, the supreme soul (Paramatama). ‘Ekam ….. return to oneness’, conceptualised by noted Odissi dancer, Madhulita Mohapatra, promises an evening of beauty & bliss when she brings on stage the fluid grace, sculptural sensuality and lyrical beauty of Odissi dance, as the dancers explore the pining & merging of the individual soul, the human with the original source, the supreme soul, the God, as propounded by the popular Advaita philosophy of monism.
