Famagusta
An Artists` Amateur Guild Production, Famagusta is a play about the lines that we see all around but pay no attention to. It is the story of the lines that separate us and the lines that bind us. It is the story of two army men from across borders, and of borders formed overnight. Of their union and of their divide.
Written by Aditya Sondhi, this one-act play is set in the living room of the Siddiquis in Lahore circa 2000, when they have a visitor - a retired Colonel from India. A new friendship flourishes that evening with shared experiences at Partition and in the army. But as the night progresses, a deeper reason is revealed to actually bring them together – one that could threaten their newfound friendship forever.
