It all happened 100 years ago. In the province of Kaarithara in the Royal state of Travancore, in the village of Theyyaadimukku of Thirunankodu principality; the epicentre of the entire happening; a saga of vengeance was getting simmered up. When the main Vishahaari (local toxicologist) of Theyyadimukku, Amboori Neelandan decided to take on his sworn rival Theyyaadi Kumaran; the son of Theyyaadi Maathu; the most beloved master who taught Neelandan the treatment for poison ingestion, the village witnessed a dual unseen before. Neelandan could not let Kumaran to claim the legacy of the treatment system as natural heir. Anger, frustration, betrayal and solitude converge and transform Neelandan’s revenge as a simmering story of vengeance. It is “Thushagni”, the husk fire. It may look concealed or even lit off, but within deep, it exists. The fine fragments of husk fire keep the power within to get ablaze and char down the enemy. Neelandan walked down all the forbidden alleys, knocked all mysterious doors, amassed fathom deep knowledge and sharpened the best crafted weapon in his arsenal. Kumaran could never stand a chance when the vengeance is showered on him like hellfire. Neelandan knew it may exhume him when he wields his supreme weapon against Kumaran, but the vengeance within burning like the husk fire will take him to do the extreme step, self-sacrifice.
